Most of Medina runs on private septic and private wells, and both change what can happen where. Drain fields cannot take equipment traffic or new grade over them, and neither should carry deep-rooted planting. Deer and rodent pressure also runs higher out here, particularly on new plant material during a hard winter. Anything going into the ground on an open Medina property should be chosen for exposure.

Long private drives are the first thing a visitor sees and usually the last thing that gets attention. On an acreage property the approach does more for how the place reads than anything near the house does, and defining its edges is comparatively inexpensive work for how much it changes the arrival. It is the single most overlooked area we see out here.
