Almost every landscaping decision in Wayzata is a drainage decision. Lots fall toward the lake, which means water moves fast, loose material washes out of beds on the downhill side, and anything installed without proper edging ends up in the street after a heavy rain. Slope also changes how material gets in: on the tighter lake-side lots there is often no route for a machine, so the work is done by hand and priced accordingly. Price follows volume and access. Square footage times depth gives the yards; the rest is how far that material has to travel from where the truck can sit. A front bed twenty feet from the driveway and a back bed reached only through a side gate are the same mulch and very different jobs.
