Topsoil & Grading in Brooklyn Park.

Single-family detached housing covers more than 40 percent of the city's land, so most properties are conventional lots with straightforward access. Flatter through the west, falling toward the Mississippi River bluff along the eastern edge.

Brooklyn Park has more original 1970s landscaping still in the ground than almost anywhere else in the northwest metro. That means junipers and yews planted as knee-high shrubs now swallowing the front windows, rock beds laid over failed fabric that grass has grown straight through, and edging that disappeared underground years ago. The work here is usually removal before installation — and the removal is the bigger half of the job. The city is not one kind of ground. Volume is a function of area and the depth needed, and the depth needed is a judgement call made on site. Access matters here too, since soil arrives by the truckload and has to be moved to where it goes.
